Kayseri Castle and Its Walls







The castle and its walls, which were built in the 3rd century during the Roman period and made narrow in the 6th century during the Byzantine period, were rebuilt during Alaeddin Keykubat the first' reign. They were repaired twice in the period of Karamanogullari and Osmanlogullari dynasties.



The castle ant its walls consit of two parts, one of which is the inner castle existing today and the other is the outer which has still some ruins.
