Camii Kebir, known also as Ulu Camii (Kayseri Great Mosque) is the first mosqoue built after the conguest of Kayseri by Turks. Melik Mehmet Gazi, from Danişmentli had built between 1134-1142. It was repaired during Seljuk and Ottoman periods. Its minaret was built bricks like the one Ulu Mosque in Sivas and the one an Alaattin Mosque in Konya. It is one of the tallest minaret in Turkey.
